CANON POWERSHOT S45 - Awesome Camera - After spending two years debating what kind of digital camera I should buy, I ponied up the dough for Canon's brand new S model 45. I am not upset by any stretch. Given that my photography experience maxes out at taking pics at parties and when travelling, the photos that have come out of these arenas have turned out very nicely. I sprang for an extra battery which was a good idea and I upgraded to a 128 bit card, also a good choice. The startup time amazing and the quality of the pictures are great. The size is the greatest thing of all. You can take this camera anywhere. It fits in your back pocket or the front pocket of your shirt. The only problem is that with the lcd on the battery does not last long, but what do you expect from such a small camera. I suggest buying a replacment battery. The optical zoom is amazing. 3X optical zoom without a protruding lens takes the cake. If you are looking for a good quality cameara in a very very small package, then this is the camera for you. A bit pricey, but well worth it! - Go Now! |

SONY CYBER SHOT DSC-F717 - Superior camera Over A Nikon 5700 - A few months ago I purchased a Nikon 5700 for $1200. Over the past few months I have used that camera to take some very nice pictures as long as I was outside. Inside the quality was terrible. I experienced routine autofocus hunting which usually resulted in no lock or an incorrect lock. I missed many memorable shots simply because the Nikon 5700 refused to focus quickly and accurately with normal indoor lighting. I was looking in the review forums and came upon the Cybershot F717. From descriptions and reviews I decided to give the camera a try. I have not been able to get the camera to fail while getting a positive focus lock in record time. So far I haven't missed a single shot. With "Nightframing" no light level is too low for a beautiful picture. For all this wonderful performance I only had to pay $999 which allowed me to pick up (2) 128MB memory sticks for the same price as the Nikon 5700 with nothing other than its factory card which I might add is half the size of the Sony factory card (16mb vs 32mb). If you are looking for a quality camera with enough features to keep you occupied and creative while not having to deal with some of the problems of the competition, the Sony F717 is the rig for you. - Go Now! |
